Growth Rate

"Growth Rate" refers to amount of attribute points that are given to the pet each time it levels up. It is much like your own attribute points, but are automatically distributed for you. The amount of att, def, and dex the pet is alloted varies from pet to pet. Fortunately, you may reassign the pet's attribute points through wuxing to suit your needs, but thats a totally different explanation all together.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to calculate the GR

First you need to record your pet’s level 1 stats. Usually people change the pet name to its level 1 stats(e.g. 5.6.7 = att, def, dex). Then use the following formula to work out its growth rate.

GR=((current Attack + Defense + Dexterity)-(level 1 Attack + Defense + Dexterity))/(current level - 1)

Or, if you are really bad at math like me, then you should try to find a copy of "Monsterkit". It has a growth calculator on it that asks for Lv1 stats, as well as the current stats and current level.(This is only one of many useful features on Monsterkit.)

If your pet is level 301 or above with 100 loyalty you can use the compose screen to check its exact growth rate.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What effects GR

Injury degree can effect the GR of your pet. The more injury degree your pet has the lower it’s growth rate will be. Injury degree will increase if it dies or you trade it with someone that isn’t your spouse. If the pet should die, it will gain 10, 20, or 30 points. If it is traded, the injury will be about equal to the level of the pet. That's why it is advised that you should always raise a pet from Lv 1 yourself. You may check your pet's injury degree by speaking with the man in the pet shop in New Hill City at a cost of 20 pet raising points.

Loyalty also effects your pet’s GR, you should always train your pet when it has 100 loyalty, the loyalty also does not stop at 100. Even though you can't see it, it can reach up to 150. Remember to check your pet’s loyalty before leveling up, especially if you've caught it from the wild or you bought/traded the pet from another player. Just having the pet(s) in your pet list while leveling can increase loyalty.

GR will be unstable until the pet’s level is 300 and even if the pet is already above level 300 it’s GR can drop if the pet dies and gains a lot of injury degree.

How to raise your pet’s growth rate

There are many ways to increase your pet’s GR, here are just some simple guidelines you should always take while training your pet:
1. Try to raise it from lvl 1 and try not to raise pets from the wild as they will have lower growth rate making it very weak.
2. Always try to reduce your pet’s injury degree to 0 by giving it a PetDrug or a SkyPill.
3. Make sure its loyalty is at 100 or else it would effect its GR.
4. Before your pet levels up, make sure that its health point is full if possible, but always make sure it is at least 95% full.
5. Never let your pet die and if it does immediately give it a PetDrug/SkyPill so to reduce the injury degree to 0.
